We are looking for a Director of Engineering to manage diverse products development teams. To be successful in this role, you should have prior organizational leadership experience, be able to collaborate with team members, and be a strategic problem-solver.
The core part of the role evolves around recruiting and retaining top talent, management, internal communication and delivery — getting the product out the door, while ensuring the team is hitting their mark
Role and Responsibilities
Flawless execution; on a tactical level, streamlining and driving efficiency in the engineering organization.
Ensuring visibility and predictability around engineering processes, systems, etc.
Making engineering a scalable and well-oiled machine that delivers on-time and to customer requirements.
Bringing discipline and process improvement to the organization, delivering the technical roadmap on time with quality.
Acting as the engineering organization’s “mission driven leader;” bringing high energy, enthusiasm, and a positive, can-do attitude to the team. Leading the team through hands-on example and personal passion for the client mission.
Creating an overall program plan that incorporates all inter-dependencies between functional disciplines (e.g. mechanical, hardware, firmware, software), which in turn is a part of a company program plan that incorporates inter-dependencies between departments (e.g. engineering, marketing, business development)
Contributing to recruitment activities. Building, developing and managing engineering teams capable of carrying out initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications
Prior experience as Director of Engineering at an established, high-growth technology company.
Technical expertise in the semiconductor testing industry.
Excellent communication skills; highly influential both externally as well as internally at the senior management level.
Proven track record of building and leading strong engineering teams recognized for high productivity, excellent morale, and low turnover in complex and rapidly evolving environments.
Experience in recruiting Engineers and contributors.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment; can simultaneously demonstrate strategic, big-picture thinking as well as tactical attention to detail. Proven success developing and delivering complex, scalable, and highly reliable solutions.
Creative problem solving skills, and the ability to ignite the creativity of others. Driven to succeed, achievement oriented, self-motivated.
Must be knowledgeable about industry trends, best practices, and change management.
BS, MS, and/or PhD in Computer Engineering or related field.
High integrity, principles, and ethics. Values diversity of talent and thought in building teams.
